Aston Martin, the team at the back of the Formula 1 field, will use an updated version of the Honda engine from the Dutch Grand Prix onwards, after the category's August break.

The information was confirmed this Thursday by Shintaro Orihara, responsible for track operations at the Japanese manufacturer.

The British team, which occupies 10th and last position in the Constructors' World Championship, with just one point gained after eight rounds, also plans to introduce a significantly revised chassis from the Hungarian Grand Prix in July.

The Honda engine is widely considered to be the least competitive on the grid in this new era of Formula 1 power unit manufacturers.

"We are working hard to complete all the necessary tasks and be able to bring the new power unit to the Netherlands. That is our goal," Orihara told reporters ahead of the British Grand Prix.

"I don't believe we will catch up to Mercedes or RBPT (Red Bull Powertrains) all at once. We will need to take another step in the future to catch up to the top teams," he added.

The Dutch Grand Prix will be held in Zandvoort on August 23.
