Apple increases prices of MacBooks and iPads after soaring cost of memory chips

Apple announced an adjustment in the prices of several models of MacBooks and iPads in response to the sharp increase in the costs of the memory chips used in its products. According to market information, component manufacturers have been recording a significant increase in the prices of DRAM and NAND Flash memories, essential parts for notebooks, tablets and other electronic devices. As a result, the company decided to pass on part of this increase to consumers, increasing the prices of some of its main equipment. The readjustments affect different configurations of the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro lines and certain iPad models, especially those with greater storage capacity. Experts point out that the increase is the result of a combination of factors, including greater global demand for chips aimed at artificial intelligence, expansion of data centers and reduced supply in some Asian factories. In recent months, companies such as Samsung, SK Hynix and Micron have also recorded growth in the prices of memory components, reflecting a scenario of recovery in the semiconductor market. Despite the increase, Apple continues to focus on its strategy of offering high-performance equipment, especially after the consolidation of Apple Silicon family processors.
