Anvisa: What to do if I have crystal still mineral water at home?
Anvisa (National Health Surveillance Agency) determined, this Wednesday (3), the voluntary recall of batch LZ1 VAL200127 3 P 200126 of Crystal Mineral Water. The measure on "non-gas" products raised questions about what consumers should do if they have the products at home.
For this reason, CNN Brasil, following the agency's recommendations, separated the details of what needs to be done with water bottles. Understand below:
Do not consume
According to the supervisory body, it is recommended that customers first check whether they have products from the indicated batch at home, manufactured on 1/20/2026 and valid until 01/20/2027.
Next, if they have the bottles, people should not consume the water. Furthermore, Anvisa asks consumers to await the company's public guidelines on return and refund measures.

According to information presented by Crystal to Anvisa, the recall of the product began immediately at distributors, and around 99.2% of the units in the batch would no longer be available on the shelves for consumer purchase.

The company responsible for the water sent a note with all the information about the case. See below in full:
"Mineração Bom Jesus (MBJ) informs that it is finalizing the preventive and voluntary recall of a specific batch of Natural Crystal Mineral Water 500 ml still.
The batch, bottled in January, has restricted distribution and was sold only in the Federal District, in specific municipalities in Tocantins (Arraias, Combinado and Novo Alegre), Goiás (Águas Lindas de Goiás, Luziânia, Novo Gama, Valparaíso de Goiás, Cidade Oeste, Santo Antônio do Descoberto, Planaltina de Goiás and Cristalina, Formosa, Campos Belos, Alexânia, Abadiânia and Catalão) and in the cities of Sorocaba, Itapetininga, Itu, São Roque and Tatuí (SP).
During an inspection by the Health Surveillance, in March, at a specific point of sale located in the Federal District, the presence of Pseudomonas aeruginosa was identified in a sample collected. Since notification, analyzes have been carried out on more than 300 samples in the process and products, all with negative results for any microorganisms indicating contamination. Considering the high turnover of the product at points of sale, there is no indication that this batch is still available on the market.
We reinforce our permanent commitment to high quality and safety standards, recognized internationally, and continue to cooperate in a technical, responsible and transparent manner with the competent authorities.
Consumers can maintain confidence in consuming the brand's products, while the company advances in the necessary assessments to fully clarify the case with regulatory bodies. Finally, we reiterate that the Crystal brand is produced from different sources of mineral water throughout the national territory, according to the bottler responsible in each region, all duly licensed and inspected by the competent bodies.
We emphasize that this measure refers exclusively to the batch mentioned, bottled by Mineração Bom Jesus (MBJ), and has no relationship with other batches or products of the Crystal brand. The manufacturing unit remains operating normally and strictly complies with the highest quality and safety standards, with certified processes, continuous monitoring and full compliance with current legislation.

Consumers who may have units from batch P 200126 (read LZ1 VAL 200127 3 P 200126 on the packaging) should contact Consumer Service (SAC) for guidance on replacement or refund.

About Pseudomonas aeruginosa
It is important to highlight that Pseudomonas aeruginosa is considered an opportunistic bacterium. Ingestion is not a typical route of infection and, according to the available scientific literature, there is no relevant association between its ingestion and the occurrence of adverse health effects in the general population."
Understand the determination
Anvisa's measure covers 374.4 thousand 500 ml bottles distributed in the Federal District, Goiás, Tocantins and São Paulo. The decision was taken after Lacen-DF identified the presence of the bacteria "Pseudomonas aeruginosa" in samples of the product, the same found in Ypê products.
The samples were found in a factory in Luziânia, in the state of Goiás.
Health surveillance ordered the site to be closed, after the counter-evidence test, and reported the case to Anvisa.
The prohibition applies to sale, distribution and use. The recall is restricted to batch LZ1 VAL 200127, produced on 01/20/2026 and valid until 01/20/2027, and only units from this specific batch are subject to the measure.
