Anvisa suspends batch of repellent after failure of active ingredient; look

A Anvisa (Agência Nacional de Vigilância Sanitária) determinou, nesta segunda-feira (29), a suspensão do repelente contra insetos da marca Repele, da empresa Mavaro Indústria e Comércio de Produtos Químicos Ltda. The affected batch is 61/411.

The measure, published in the DOU (Official Gazette of the Union) this morning, prohibits the sale, distribution and use of the product. According to the agency, the action occurs due to a failure in the effectiveness of the active ingredient in the repellents in the aforementioned batch.

In May this year, an IR3535 test was carried out, which evaluates the effectiveness and safety of products. However, the products did not present satisfactory results and were subject to precautionary ban.

Vale ressaltar que o IR3535 é um ativo sintético usado em repelentes de insetos, responsável por criar uma barreira de odor na pele e confundir o sistema olfativo dos insetos.

De acordo com a agência sanitária, a Mavaro Indústria e Comércio de Produtos Químicos declarou que fará o recolhimento de todos os itens que integram o lote comprometido.
