Anvisa releases Ypê production; Items manufactured until March remain suspended
Anvisa (National Health Surveillance Agency) authorized this Friday (29) Química Amparo, manufacturer of Ypê products, to immediately resume its activities at the Amparo unit, in the interior of São Paulo.
The agency also authorized the sale and use of liquid washing machines, liquid dishwashers and disinfectants identified by the end of batch "1" that were manufactured from April 1, 2026.
The decision came after a joint reinspection carried out between Thursday (28) and Friday (29) by Anvisa, in partnership with the São Paulo Health Surveillance Center (CVS-SP), the Campinas Health Surveillance Group (GVS) and the Amparo Health Surveillance (Visa-Amparo).
The inspection verified the adequacy of the main corrective actions that the company had been implementing since the suspension of two production lines at the factory, determined on May 7th by Resolution (RE) 1,834/2026.
According to the president of Anvisa, Leandro Safatle, the unit already meets the necessary conditions to operate safely and offer products without health risk to the population.
The company had presented an action plan to meet the 76 health requirements highlighted in the April joint inspection.
What remains suspended
Release does not cover all stock.
The suspension of trade, distribution and use of liquid dishwashing detergents, liquid laundry soaps and disinfectants from Ypê with final batch number "1" and manufactured until March 31, 2026 - the items listed in RE 1.834/2026 - remains in force.
Anvisa recommends that these products be kept stored in a safe place and not discarded.
The release should occur gradually, as the company presents reports from laboratories authorized by the agency.
In a note, Ypê reinforced that consumers who have units of the products still suspended should keep them without discarding them and informed that those who prefer can request an exchange or refund through the company's service channels.
Comings and goings in communication about the decision
The release of the decision was marked by successive corrections by Anvisa.
Anvisa's first note, published at 5:21 pm, included the partial release of the products.
At around 6:18 pm, the agency corrected the text published on its official website and began to inform that only the factory was able to resume operations, while all products with final batch "1" would remain suspended. Over the phone, Anvisa's advisor confirmed the error.
The same note was updated again, at 8:52 pm, and restored the release of items manufactured from April onwards, with an observation that the text had been adjusted due to technical information pending in the first publication.
The division by manufacturing date was therefore defined: products with the end of batch "1" made from April 1st are released for sale and use, and those manufactured until March 31st remain blocked.

The crisis began on May 7th, when Anvisa published a resolution suspending more than 100 batches, all with final number 1, of dishwashers, liquid laundry detergents and brand disinfectants.
The measure occurred after a joint inspection with surveillance bodies from São Paulo and the municipality of Amparo, in the interior of São Paulo, carried out at the end of April, which detected 76 irregularities in critical stages of production, highlighting the risk of microbiological contamination.
The inspection was carried out after, in November 2025, the factory itself had already registered an event of microbiological contamination by the bacteria Pseudomonas aeruginosa, which resulted in the recall of products from the washing line at the time.
In addition, the multinational Unilever, a competitor of Ypê, had formalized complaints to Anvisa and Senacon (National Consumer Secretariat) in October 2025, presenting reports that indicated the presence of the same bacteria in products from the Tixan Ypê line.

On May 8th of this year, Ypê presented an administrative appeal that temporarily suspended Anvisa's punishments until the collegiate's final judgment.
The manufacturer, which paralyzed the production lines of the affected factory on its own, argues that it has independent reports that attest to the safety of its products and that it continues in "maximum collaboration" with the regulatory agency, having presented more than 230 corrective actions.
