Anvisa backtracks and states that Ypê products remain suspended
After stating that the sale and use of products by Ypê's batch ending with "1" were permitted, Anvisa (National Health Surveillance Agency) reversed itself, in the early evening of this Friday (29), and pointed out that it only authorized the resumption of production at Química Amparo, manufacturer of the brand's products, in the interior of São Paulo.
Production and sales of products were suspended at the beginning of this month, after serious flaws in the company's processes were identified.
The agency had informed, in an official note published at 5:21 p.m., that the commercialization and use of liquid washing machines, liquid washing machines and disinfectants identified by the aforementioned batch, manufactured from April 1, 2026, were authorized. On the other hand, precautionary measures were maintained for Ypê products manufactured until March 31 of this year.
However, correcting the official note at 6:18 pm this Friday, Anvisa confirmed that the information was wrong.
Thus, only the factory in Amparo (SP) "is able to resume its activities immediately", but the suspension of trade, distribution and use of liquid dishwashing detergents, liquid laundry soaps and disinfectants from Ypê with batches with final number 1 - listed in Anvisa Resolution 1,834/2026 - remains in force.
Resumption of activities
The measure this Friday (29) was taken after a joint reinspection, between this Thursday (28) and Friday, carried out by Anvisa, the São Paulo Health Surveillance Center, the Campinas Health Surveillance Group and the Amparo Health Surveillance Group.
According to the decision, inspection at the factory verified the adequacy of the processes and main corrective actions determined by Anvisa, which have been implemented by Ypê since the suspension of the production lines at the Amparo (SP) factory.
The company presented an action plan to meet the 76 health requirements identified in the joint inspection carried out in April this year. At the time of the suspension, the agency's board had to provide details:
- Traceability criteria to locate distributed lots;
- Direct and clear risk communication channels with consumers and distributors;
- Continuous post-market monitoring;
- Segregation measures and adequate destination of affected goods.
For the president of Anvisa, Leandro Safatle, the company has made improvements to production and control lines: "We verified that this Ypê factory already meets the necessary conditions to operate safely and make products available without health risk to the Brazilian population", stated Safatle.

Understand the Ypê case
The crisis began on May 7th, when Anvisa published a resolution suspending more than 100 batches, all with final number 1, of dishwashers, liquid laundry detergents and brand disinfectants.
The measure occurred after a joint inspection with surveillance bodies from São Paulo and the municipality of Amparo, in the interior of São Paulo, carried out at the end of April, which detected 76 irregularities in critical stages of production, highlighting the risk of microbiological contamination.
The inspection was carried out after, in November 2025, the factory itself had already registered an event of microbiological contamination by the bacteria Pseudomonas aeruginosa, which resulted in the recall of products from the washing line at the time.

In addition, the multinational Unilever, a competitor of Ypê, had formalized complaints to Anvisa and Senacon (National Consumer Secretariat) in October 2025, presenting reports that indicated the presence of the same bacteria in products from the Tixan Ypê line.

On May 8th of this year, Ypê presented an administrative appeal that temporarily suspended Anvisa's punishments until the collegiate's final judgment.
The manufacturer, which paralyzed the production lines of the affected factory on its own, argues that it has independent reports that attest to the safety of its products and that it continues in "maximum collaboration" with the regulatory agency, having presented more than 230 corrective actions.
