ANP: Ethanol is more competitive than gasoline in 8 states and DF

Ethanol was more competitive compared to gasoline in eight states and the Federal District this week.

On average at the stations surveyed in the country, ethanol had a parity of 62.39% compared to gasoline, therefore favorable in comparison with the petroleum derivative, according to a survey by the ANP (National Agency for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels) compiled by AE-Taxas.

The data refers to the period from June 14th to 20th.

Parity was 69.48% in Bahia; 63.95% in the Federal District; 64.26% in Goiás; 57.59% in Mato Grosso; 62.60% in Mato Grosso do Sul; 65.87% in Minas Gerais; 63.95% in Paraná; 69.53% in Santa Catarina; and 59.60% in São Paulo.

Sector executives note that ethanol can be competitive even with parity greater than 70%, depending on the vehicle in which the biofuel is used.
