Another fake taxi driver is arrested in RJ; see the moment of the incident

The Rio de Janeiro Civil Police arrested, this Wednesday (20), a man suspected of participating in a gang specializing in pharmacy robberies in the South Zone of Rio.

The person being investigated would act as a fake taxi driver to transport his companions in the robberies.

Agents from the 15th DP arrested the suspect, Botafogo, after CIVITAS (Center for Intelligence, Surveillance and Technology in Support of Public Security) located him.

On May 15, the police inserted the license plate of the suspect vehicle into the Electronic Siege. Since then, the Center has monitored the entire history of the car's circulation around the city.

Based on the information collected by CIVITAS, it was possible to reconstruct routes, identify circulation patterns and map areas where the gang operates, mainly in the South Zone - enabling this Wednesday's arrest (20).

According to the corporation, two other members of the same gang had already been arrested previously.
