Another baby dies after being left in a car in France; heat wave has already caused the deaths of 4 children

A one and a half year old baby died after being left in a car in Marseille, in southeastern France. The child was found in a vehicle parked in the parking lot of a university hospital amid the heat wave that is hitting the country.

Firefighters in the city, the second largest in France, said they were called last Tuesday (23), shortly before 2pm (9am Brasília), after discovering the child. The baby was rushed to the hospital's pediatric emergency room. The child did not resist.
On Monday (22), two brothers, aged two and four, were also found dead inside the family car in Carpentras. On Thursday (24), another child, aged three, died inside the family's vehicle in Saint-Gratien, northwest of Paris.
The heat wave has already killed at least 50 people in the country, amid the highest temperatures ever recorded in the history of France. Europe has been experiencing an extreme heat wave for a week, a direct effect of climate change.
