Anne Hathaway reveals she acted like a "psychopath" while preparing for a film

Actress Anne Hathaway, 43, revealed that she prepared to audition for the wrong character when she competed for a role in "The Dark Knight Rises", in 2012. The celebrity explained that she thought she would play Harley Quinn, with the villain in the film in question being Catwoman.

In an interview with the podcast "Happy Sad Confused", the celebrity said that in her first meeting with director Christopher Nolan before filming, she left with the certainty that she would play Harley Quinn.

"I thought I had discovered what the character would be, because I thought: 'It can't be Catwoman, because Michelle Pfeiffer was so iconic...'", she recalled, in reference to the character played by the actress in 1992.

For days, Hathaway developed "a demonic Harley Quinn energy", wearing court jester shoes and even a striped blouse, until in a second conversation with the director she discovered what the character would be.

"A couple of hours after we started talking, Chris said: 'So, the role is Catwoman'. And I thought: 'Transformation!'", he declared.

Anne completely changed the preparations. "I started acting in a psychopathic way," he said.

The partnership between the actress and the director worked well in "The Dark Knight Rises". The two collaborated again on the successful feature film "Interstellar" and also on "The Odyssey", a new venture by the filmmaker that will premiere soon.
