Anne Hathaway, 43, refuted rumors that she had undergone cosmetic procedures on her face. The actress was in the spotlight after reprising her role as journalist Andrea Sachs in the film "The Devil Wears Prada 2", twenty years after starring in the first film.

Recently, the star posted a video on Instagram showing a trick her hairdresser taught her to create a more lifted face effect using two tight braids. However, she denied that the post was a targeted response to the cosmetic surgery rumors.

In an interview with ELLE magazine, she explained: "I wouldn't say targeted. But we're at a time where people feel very confident in assuming that what they think is fact. Sometimes what they think is true and sometimes it's not."

"My preference would be to never comment on anything and just live in the mystery without attracting attention, but the speculation has gotten so big that you feel the need to just show your truth."

"I'll probably always ask myself, 'Should I have posted that or not? Should I have just gone ahead and done what makes me happy and most confident on the red carpet?' But I felt like the conversation was diverting attention."

The star also highlighted the importance of decisions related to aesthetic procedures and did not rule out the possibility of undergoing surgery in the future.

"By the way, these are huge medical decisions that people are assuming. I wanted to show that no, I didn't make a huge medical decision. It's just two braids."

"And by the way, another thing about all this is that I might still get a facelift someday," he added.

Anne also took advantage of the interview to talk about the experience of returning to play Andrea Sachs in "The Devil Wears Prada 2".

"You know how sometimes you have certain memories or moments in life that you wish you could revisit because you think, 'Oh my God, I wish I could go back there and be the person I am now and know what I know today?' It was exactly like that."

"I've always felt enormous gratitude for the film and the way I was protected, especially by [director] David Frankel. So it was really exciting to be able to come back and say thank you, show how I evolve, and just strive to be a charming presence every day."
