Andressa Alves highlights the evolution of the Brazilian team and projects challenges for the 2027 World Cup

Corinthians midfielder Andressa Alves, after eight years, returned to work with the Brazilian Women's Team during the training period held in Itu, in the interior of São Paulo. The call-up marked the athlete's first opportunity to train under the command of Arthur Elias in the main team, after years of experience defending Amarelinha.
The presentation took place last Sunday (14), together with six other Corinthians players: goalkeepers Nicole and Ana Morganti, right-back/attacker Ivana Fuso, midfielder Ana Vitória and attackers Jhonson and Jaqueline. In total, 29 athletes were called up for the period of activities, which takes place between the 15th and 20th of June, in preparation for the 2027 Women's World Cup, which will be held in Brazil.

Andressa, who met Arthur Elias during his time at the Olympic Center in 2013, commented on the evolution of the Brazilian Women's Team over the last few years and highlighted changes in the structure offered by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF).
The player highlighted that, in addition to the evolution on the field, there was a transformation in the support offered to athletes, with a greater structure for the development of high performance.
"I think the way the CBF is treating the Women's Team has changed a lot. It has evolved towards us having high performance, because today we have everything at our disposal, as a nutritionist. Before this access was difficult. So it has impacted how we perform."
The midfielder also spoke about adapting to Arthur Elias' game model and stated that each coach contributes in some way to her professional development.
"Each person has their own style, completely different. We adapt. The good thing is that, when everyone embraces their idea, it works very well. We are seeing the results we have had recently."
The relationship between Andressa and Arthur Elias has a history prior to the Brazilian team. The coach led the athlete during the period in which she played for the Olympic Center, before taking on other projects in women's football and later taking charge of the national team.
Preparation for the 2027 World Cup
With the Women's World Cup scheduled to take place in Brazil between June 24 and July 25, 2027, Andressa also commented on the challenges of playing in a World Cup at home.
For the athlete, the emotional aspect will be one of the points of attention of the Brazilian team during the competition.
"On the field, the challenge will be to control your emotions, because playing within the country is a magical moment, but with a lot of responsibility. Brazil will be one of the favorites and that is a huge burden."
The Corinthians player also recalled her experience with the Brazilian team in major competitions, such as the 2016 Olympic Games, and highlighted the importance of being prepared for a tournament of this level.
The Brabas cast is currently on vacation and is scheduled to reappear on June 25th, at CT Dr. Joaquim Grava. The team's next official commitment will be on July 17, against Ferroviária, for the Campeonato Paulista Feminino.
