Bayer Leverkusen promoted, last Saturday, a special meeting bringing together names that have a connection with the history of the German club. In a post on social media, the team showed defender André Ramalho and former midfielder Paulo Sérgio alongside CEO Fernando Carro and full-back Wendell, currently at São Paulo and also a former player for the Leverkusen team.

André Ramalho's time in German football was relatively discreet. Hired by Bayer Leverkusen in 2015, the defender remained at the club until 2018 and took to the field in just 28 opportunities. During this period, he was loaned to Mainz 05 in the 2016-17 season.

After leaving Germany, the defender continued his career at Red Bull Salzburg, in Austria, and later at PSV, in the Netherlands, before landing at Corinthians.

Paulo Sérgio built a more prominent career at Bayer Leverkusen. Revealed by Corinthians, the former midfielder played for the Parque São Jorge club between 1988 and 1993, a period in which he won the first Brazilian Championship in black and white history, in 1990, in addition to the Brazilian Super Cup the following year.

After standing out at Timão, the former player was traded to Bayer Leverkusen, where he played for four seasons. In Germany, he played 121 games and scored 64 goals, becoming one of the most successful Brazilians in the club's history.

Good performances in European football opened the doors for the Brazilian team. Paulo Sérgio was part of the 1994 World Cup winning squad and participated in two matches in the group stage, against Cameroon and Sweden.

The meeting promoted by Bayer Leverkusen took place in São Paulo and was part of the one-year celebrations of Bayer 04 Academy Football, a project aimed at the sporting development of children and teenagers between six and 15 years old.

In another video released on social media, Paulo Sérgio spoke with the young participants, recalled moments from winning the 1994 World Cup and also posed for photos with the academy students.
