Ancelotti praises Igor Thiago and opens up about dispute in the Seleção's attack
In a press conference held this Friday (5), Carlo Ancelotti opened up about the position dispute in Brazil's attack, more specifically about Endrick and Igor Thiago. According to the coach, the Brentford striker from England will be the starter in the friendly against Egypt.
With the 25-year-old player in the starting lineup, Ancelotti was asked if Igor Thiago is ahead of Endrick in the fight for a place in the Brazilian team's starting lineup and the Italian denied it. Furthermore, the coach also spoke about the differences with Matheus Cunha, from Manchester United.
"He is no longer advanced, he has different characteristics and did well against Panama. I think the two combine their game well, because I think they both have different characteristics", explained the coach.
"Matheus has a lot of quality in positioning and a very strong shot. Igor Thiago is very powerful and intelligent, very strong in the area", said the coach.
Igor Thiago will be one of Brazil's starters in the game against Egypt, the last match before Brazil's debut in the World Cup. The ball rolls at 7pm (Brasília time) this Saturday (6).
