Analysis: Flávio falls in research and Lula invests in "package of kindness"
Senator and pre-candidate Flávio Bolsonaro remains, at the moment, the favorite to face President Lula in a possible 2nd round. Despite having faced a drop in polls, the numbers are insufficient to justify a replacement in the candidacy.
This, however, could change if new facts involving the senator and former banker Daniel Vorcaro are revealed - something that could make him fall even further in voting intention surveys.
The Datafolha released this Friday (22) showed that no other right-wing option showed an "out of the ordinary" performance. All varied within the margin of error, plus or minus 2 percentage points.
The research institute included the name of Michelle Bolsonaro in place of Flávio, but she appears with 22% of voting intentions, 9 points less than the senator.
Therefore, the tendency is for the pre-candidate to remain in the race.
On the other hand, in an attempt to improve his popularity ratings, Lula promoted two other new measures. The first is an announcement by Petrobras of an investment of R$37 billion; the second is the Move program, with R$30 billion in credit for taxi and app drivers.
To date, the measures announced by the government have already exceeded R$200 billion. And there are even more bundles of goodness on the way.
The Minister of Finance, Dario Durigan, said that the government is finalizing the design of Desenrola for creditors, aimed at consumers who keep their accounts up to date, but are at risk of debt.
Another topic that the government seeks to increase its popularity is the end of the 6X1 scale. According to Arko Advice, discussion and voting in the Chamber of Deputies on this PEC (Proposed Amendment to the Constitution) should take place next week.
The rapporteur, Léo Prates (Republicans - BA), expects to present his opinion to the special committee on Monday (25). Then, naturally, there must be a request for a review on this matter and she will be able to vote on the agenda after two sessions, therefore, on Thursday (28).
The idea is to deliberate on this PEC in the Chamber plenary also on Thursday. This is the deadline to comply with the initial schedule that was released by the President of the House, Hugo Motta (Republicans - PB), who defends the approval of this proposal in May.
