Analysis: Accelerated change to 6×1 will impact inflation; understand
The proposal to abolish the 6x1 work schedule has raised concerns in the financial market in addition to the labor debate.
For CNN Economics analyst Lucinda Pinto, the already weakened inflationary scenario makes an accelerated change in work rules in Brazil even more risky.
According to Lucinda, businesspeople have signaled that an abrupt change in the work regime will have concrete effects on the prices of products and services.
"The issue really is this rush to make the decision, at a time when the inflation scenario is quite fragile", said the analyst.
Pressure on future costs and interest
The analyst highlighted that the job market already operates in a very tight manner, with businesspeople facing difficulties in hiring more specialized professionals.
In this context, a very rapid adjustment in working hours could generate additional pressure on companies' costs, contributing to deteriorating expectations, including in relation to interest rates.
Lucinda pointed out that this perception has directly influenced long-term interest rates.
"This statement, this perception has helped future interest rates to rise in response to this factor as well", he explained.
She highlighted, however, that the issue of the 6x1 scale is just one of the elements of concern for the market, which is also closely following the effects of the oil crisis and the fiscal stimuli that keep consumption heated.
Markets under pressure: Ibovespa falls and dollar remains high
In addition to discussions about the work regime, Lucinda commented that financial markets also reacted negatively on the day to Donald Trump's statements about a possible attack on Iran.
"The hot news of the day really was Trump's speech and this concern about the worsening of the conflict", said the analyst.
The Ibovespa registered another negative session, ending below 169 thousand points.
The dollar retreated slightly, but remained at around R$5.17.
For Lucinda, instability in the markets reflects a set of factors that continue to guide investors, without abrupt movements, but with persistent volatility.
