Ana Paula Renault cries when remembering her father: "What will become of me?"

Ana Paula Renault, 44, BBB 26 champion, appeared emotional in Instagram stories last Sunday (24), when talking about her father, Gerardo Renault, who died at the age of 96, after publishing a video talking about Bolsa Família.

The journalist said that it was precisely her father who presented her with studies and research on the social impact of the income transfer program.

In videos published on social media, the BBB champion recalled the importance of her father in her personal and intellectual development. Excited, Ana Paula said that he always encouraged people around him to seek information and knowledge.

"My father was the one who showed me this research that children on Bolsa Família do not depend on Bolsa Família. What will happen to me, guys? I got there, there was a lot of newspaper for me to read, find out, find out about. He gave newspaper clippings to everyone, my friends, who he thought the information would add to someone [...] That's it, guys. I want to be that person", she said, crying.

The outburst happened shortly after Ana Paula published a video refuting Luciano Huck's statements about Bolsa Família. During the event, the presenter stated that the social program "does not break the cycle of poverty" and suggested that beneficiaries "create shortcuts" to continue receiving the aid.

The statement had a negative impact on social media and Ana Paula Renault took a stand shortly afterwards. In a video, she stated that Bolsa Família is one of the "most misinterpreted public policies in Brazil" and cited studies by Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) to argue that many beneficiaries manage to leave the program over the years.

"A study by FGV showed that, in ten years, more than 60% of beneficiaries managed to leave Bolsa Família. Among young people who were teenagers when they received the benefit, this number exceeds 70%", he explained.
