Banker Daniel Vorcaro allocated R$61 million to the production of the film "Dark Horse", a biopic about former president Jair Bolsonaro, according to a report on the website Intercept Brasil published this Wednesday (13). The sending took place after direct contact with the former president's son, the senator and pre-candidate for the Presidency of the Republic, Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ), who was pushing for the payments.
The amount is twice as high as the budget of the film "The Secret Agent", which received R$28 million and represented Brazil at the 2026 Oscars with four nominations.
Vorcaro, owner of Banco Master, is arrested in São Paulo, accused of leading a billion-dollar financial fraud scheme that could reach R$12 billion, according to the PF.

The information was revealed this Wednesday (13) by the Intercept Brasil portal, which had access to messages exchanged between the two and an audio sent by Flávio to the banker in September 2025.
TV Globo confirmed with investigators and people with access to the information the existence of the audio and the content of the report.
Ancine reported that the budget to film "The Secret Agent" was R$ 28 million, divided between Brazil, France, Germany and Holland.
The film starring Wagner Moura and directed by Kleber Mendonça Filho was nominated for an Oscar in the categories of best casting, best international film, best film and best actor.
The film was also highlighted at the Cannes Film Festival, having won the categories of best director and best actor.

Details about 'Dark Horse'
The biography stars Jim Caviezel, who plays the former president, currently under house arrest for an attempted coup d'état. The 57-year-old American actor is best known for "The Passion of the Christ" (2004) and for having participated in more conservative films in recent years, such as "Sound of Freedom" (2023).
Directing is Cyrus Nowrasteh, a 69-year-old American filmmaker of films for TV, such as "After the Attack", and for cinema, such as "The Stoning of Soraya M.". He was already involved in a co-production between the United States and Brazil when he wrote the script for "Jenipapo" (1995) with director Monique Gardenberg.
He wrote the script for "Dark Horse" with Mark Nowrasteh, based on a script written by Mario Frias, actor and former Secretary of Culture during the Bolsonaro government.
The cast also includes Esai Morales ("Mission: Impossible - The Final Hit"), Lynn Collins ("The Walking Dead"), Camille Guaty ("Duster") as Michelle Bolsonaro and Jeffrey Vincent Parise ("General Hospital").

"From its conception, when Mario brought me the story of 'Dark Horse', it was conceived not as a biographical portrait, but as a tense political thriller about power, media and faith under attack, with cultural significance not just in Brazil, but in all countries", said the director to Deadline.
"The story of the unlikely rise of Jair Bolsonaro and the attack he suffered in 2018 they served as a basis for investigating how far established systems can go to preserve themselves - and how a politician can become the receptacle of a nation's hopes and fears."

When does it premiere?
On April 7, Caviezel published on Instagram that the film opens on September 11, 2026, a Friday. In Brazil, films normally premiere on Thursdays.
Deadline, however, published on April 21 that there is no release date, "contrary to some online speculation", and that the filmmakers are still looking to sell the project.
