After the elimination of the Netherlands in the early stages of the 2026 World Cup, Memphis Depay was released by Corinthians to enjoy the vacation period. This Wednesday, the 8th, the attacker once again made waves on social media by publishing a message that caught the attention of fans.

On one of his Instagram accounts, the black and white shirt shared an enigmatic reflection as he awaits the definition of his future at the club.

"I lost people, money and time, but I never lost direction and that's why I'm still here", the player posted on one of his Instagram accounts.

During the Dutch participation in the World Cup, Memphis had little space. The striker started the competition as an option on the bench and entered the field just twice, accumulating 51 minutes and contributing one assist.

In the match that defined the elimination of the Netherlands against Morocco, the Corinthians athlete was not used by coach Ronald Koeman, remaining on the bench throughout the match, including in extra time after the draw in regulation time.

While enjoying the rest period, Memphis also follows the negotiations involving his stay at Parque São Jorge. The player's representatives continue to negotiate the renewal of his contract with Corinthians, whose current contract is valid until July 31st of this year.
