A B-52 Stratofortress military plane suffered an accident shortly after takeoff this Monday (15) at Edwards Air Force Base, a US military base north of Los Angeles, California.

A large column of smoke could be seen nearby kilometers away, drawing the attention of those passing by.
There is no information about deaths or injuries. The B-52 is a large aircraft, with 8 engines and is usually operated by a crew of 5 crew members.
"Alert: A United States Air Force B-52 Stratofortress bomber crashed shortly after takeoff at Edwards Air Force Base at 11:20 am (3:20 pm, Brasília time). Emergency teams immediately responded to the scene, and the situation remains ongoing. More information will be released as soon as are available", says a note from the base published on the social network Production began in the 1950s, and the bomber remains the "backbone" of the American Air Force.
