Almost 700,000 people used the government's self-exclusion tool on online betting apps and sites, says minister
The Minister of Finance, Dario Durigan, reported this Friday (19) that almost 700 thousand people have already used the government's self-exclusion tool on online betting platforms and applications.
As a result, they were automatically removed and blocked from all of them and can no longer receive advertising.
Launched in December last year, the service is available on the website http://gov.br/autoexclusaoapostas. After self-exclusion, people receive a document confirming this option.
Centralized self-exclusion is "scientifically recognized as an essential strategy to reduce damage to the mental health of the population in relation to betting", says the government.
Self-exclusion can be accessed through registration on the gov.br portal and can be made available for one, three, six, twelve months, or for an indefinite period, in which the bettor will make his or her CPF unavailable for new registrations and receiving advertising.
"Once the deadline has been selected, it is not possible to reverse the choice during the indicated period. There is the option of self-excluding from the betting environment for an indefinite period of time (without a deadline). Only in this case, the user will have up to one month to invalidate the decision", informed the government.
People will also be invited to respond about the reasons that led them to self-exclude:
voluntary decision,
difficulties financial issues,
recommendation from a healthcare professional,
loss of control over gambling (mental health),
or prevention of the use of your data on betting platforms;
You can also choose not to inform the reason. Then, according to the government, it is necessary to accept the terms of use and check that the personal data is correct.
The platform also provides information about service points of the Unified Health System (SUS), directing the user to Meu SUS Digital and the SUS Ombudsman's Office - through which people can "test" if they have any type of problem with online betting addiction, and seek help.
Mental health teleservices are also offered with a focus on gaming and betting through partnership with Hospital Sírio-Libanês within the Institutional Development Support Program (Proadi-SUS) and a partnership with Hospital Sírio-Libanês.
