Alleged espionage against Vorcaro led the PF to identify the leader of "A Turma"
Daniel Vorcaro's concern about the presence of a drone flying over his residence in Nova Lima, Minas Gerais, helped the PF (Federal Police) produce evidence that helped identify the structure of the group "A Turma", linked to the former banker and suspected of intimidating enemies.
According to investigations, the video monitoring device belonged to a neighbor who was looking for a missing dog. But it was thanks to suspected espionage on the part of Vorcaro that the PF managed to identify Marilson Roseno da Silva, a retired federal police officer, considered, according to investigations, to be the leader of the businessman's group.
Conversations intercepted by the PF between Vorcaro and Luiz Phillipi Mourão, known as "Sicário", show that, on March 26, 2024, the then owner of Banco Master was bothered by drones flying over his property and, therefore, asked his ally to deal with the situation.
As the investigation points out, Sicário responded to the demand by offering to send a vehicle and asked Vorcaro whether he preferred an "ostentatious" or "veiled" approach, to which the businessman responded by choosing the first option. According to the PF, the choice was intended to intimidate the alleged spy.
On that same occasion, as recorded in the messages, Sicário also suggested preparing a police report and purchasing an "anti-drone" to take down the neighbor's equipment. According to the PF report, Vorcaro demonstrated hesitation regarding the police record in order to avoid unwanted attention. The same document does not inform whether an "anti-drone" was acquired.

It was after the execution of the plan that the PF was able to track the movements of the group linked to Daniel Vorcaro.
Days after the businessman complained about new drone passages, in April 2024, Marilson sent an audio to Sicário requesting that his entry be allowed into the condominium where the then owner of Banco Master lived. This voice message, reports the PF, was forwarded by Sicário to Vorcaro, who began negotiations to enable the ally to enter the residential area.
When checking in at the entrance, Marilson was added to the condominium's list of visitors. Cross-referencing this record with the intercepted messages and the PF database allowed the corporation to confirm that the leader of the group was, in fact, the retired police officer.
The team led by Marilson entered the condominium on two different days. In the first, Vorcaro's allies were unable to identify the alleged spy's address. On the second attempt, the group members concluded that the supposed case of espionage was, in fact, a neighbor's search for a dog named Pitoco.
The henchmen sent Sicário an image of a pamphlet with information about the animal's rescue. "He is very docile. He is 10 years old, but he is scared and running away [to] further and further away. If you see him, please call immediately", said the leaflet in the PF report.
CNN tried to find Marilson Roseno da Silva's defense to request a position, but there was no success. The space will be updated with any manifestation.
"The Gang"
Daniel Vorcaro's group was responsible for making threats, personal intimidation, coercion, clandestine surveys of enemies, obtaining confidential data and improper access to government systems.
The operational leadership of the nucleus is attributed to retired federal police officer Marilson Roseno da Silva, who has been in prison since March this year, the target of a PF operation on the Master case.
According to investigations, the "Class" was divided into three functional fronts:
- demand and financing,
- face-to-face and territorial; and
- the informational police.
According to the PF, monthly payments to the group were around R$400,000.
