Alex James says Blur and Oasis resolved their differences long before the bands returned

Alex James revealed that the rivalry between Blur and Oasis was practically over long before the recent comebacks and reunions involving the two groups. The Blur bassist said much of the famous 1990s feud was amplified by the British press during the height of Britpop. At the time, the bands were often presented as direct rivals competing for dominance in British rock. The conflict reached its peak in 1995, when the singles "Country House", by Blur, and "Roll With It", by Oasis, were released in the same week in a competition widely publicized by the media. Despite this, James explained that, over the years, the members of both bands matured and left behind many of the frictions that marked that phase. According to him, the reconciliation happened long before the recent meetings and new projects involving the musicians. Today, both Blur and Oasis are recognized as fundamental pillars of Britpop, a movement that defined a generation of British music.
