The president of the Senate, Davi Alcolumbre (União-AP), stated this Tuesday (7) that he will not tolerate threats when rebutting the demands of the PT leader, Pedro Uczai (SC), regarding the progress of the proposal to end the 6×1 scale. The PT deputy demanded progress on the agenda and stated that the senator would become an "enemy" if there was no progress on the proposal.

"The Senate Presidency clarifies that this type of threat and attempted intimidation will no longer be tolerated", said Alcolumbre in a statement.

The senator highlighted that setting the agenda is a prerogative of the House Bureau. The PEC (Proposed Amendment to the Constitution) has been awaiting dispatch from Alcolumbre for over a month.

"Whoever really intends to contribute to the advancement of the PEC respects the due legislative process. Institutional threats and constraints do not speed up the process; they only challenge the independence of the Powers", he said.

Earlier, Uczai stated that the PEC would advance even before the parliamentary recess, which begins on July 18, and stated: "It will advance. This week we are going to give Davi Alcolumbre a truce so he can send it to the Constitution and Justice Commission. If he doesn't send it to the Justice Commission by next week, we will elect him as an enemy too. Enemy of the workers."
