Alckmin highlights the advancement of Pará's industry and the state's strategic role
The vice-president of the Republic, Geraldo Alckmin, stated this Wednesday (20), during the opening of the XVII FIPA (Feira das Indústrias do Pará) 2026, that Pará recorded the biggest increase in industrial production in the country.
The statement was made through a video shown at the ceremony, held in Belém, after the politician was unable to attend the event in person.
In the message, Alckmin cited data released by IBGE that indicate a 4.5% growth in the state's industrial production in March, compared to February.
"Data released last week by IBGE indicate that in March the state of Pará had the biggest increase in industrial production. It was a growth of 4.5% compared to February", he stated.
The vice-president is one of the recipients of this edition with the Simão Miguel Bitar Medal of Industrial Merit, considered the highest honor in the industry in Pará.
During his speech, he also highlighted the strategic role of Pará in debates on critical minerals, sustainability and economic development.
"Brazil is willing to maintain partnerships with other nations, always respecting our sovereignty", he declared.
The opening ceremony was led by the president of the FIEPA System, Alex Carvalho, and brought together authorities from the Executive, Legislative and Judiciary branches, as well as businesspeople and representatives of civil society.
The governor of Pará, Hana Ghassan, also highlighted the state's economic performance and stated that Pará is growing above the national average.

"Today, the State of Pará is the fourth State in the Federation with the best investment rate", he said.
Despite the advances, the governor highlighted the structural challenges faced by the state, especially in the area of infrastructure and the need for verticalization of industrial production.
"We know that we have many challenges. Infrastructure is one of them. And when reading the industry's strategic plan, we can see the enormous challenges that the State of Pará faces, so that we can add value, strengthen our production chains and verticalize", he stated.
The XVII FIPA program continues until next Saturday (23rd), with business and credit rounds, technical congress, debates on industry, bioeconomy, sustainability and innovation, as well as cultural attractions and activities open to the public.
