Singer Alcione surprised the public and followers on social media when she appeared dancing samba during her performance at the "Capital do Samba" festival, in Marina da Glória, South Zone of Rio de Janeiro, last Saturday (16).
The recording, made by a fan club and published on the TikTok platform, surprised users due to the fact that the artist performed most of her shows sitting down in recent years.
"A Marrom with a lot of samba on her feet", said the caption of the original publication.
Given the 78-year-old samba singer's ease, internet users even considered the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), but the singer's advisor confirmed the veracity of the video and assured that she looks great.
"Alcione had back surgery some time ago, but she's great now. During the performances, she sings standing up and also sitting down. It's a gradual improvement", explained the team.
Medical recommendations
In July 2022, the artist underwent spinal surgery to treat spondylolisthesis, characterized by the sliding of one vertebra over the other.
In addition to the spinal procedure, the Maranhão native also underwent a surgical intervention on her hip, which led her to prioritize sitting performances to avoid intense pain and preserve the treatment.
