Air cargo exports grow 43% in the 1st quarter

Brazilian air cargo exports grew 43% in the first quarter of 2026, compared to the same period last year, totaling US$5.8 billion in value of goods shipped. The data comes from the Air Cargo Indicator Panel, from the Ministry of Ports and Airports.

The ministry also informs that the main destinations for Brazilian air exports were the United States, Canada and Switzerland, which accounted for 48.3% of the value. Among the most relevant products are pharmaceuticals, machines, electronics and high-value-added cargo.

In total, the modal moved 308.7 thousand tons in Brazil between January and March, considering domestic and international operations.

In the international market, air cargo totaled 207.5 thousand tons, a stable result compared to the same period of the previous year. Cargo aircraft moved 99.5 thousand tons, an increase of 10.9%, while mixed aircraft transported 107.9 thousand tons, a decrease of 9.3%.

In the domestic market, movement totaled 101.2 thousand tons, a drop of 1.5% compared to the first quarter of 2025.

Despite the decline, transport by cargo aircraft grew 18.3%, to 39.8 thousand tons. Mixed aircraft, which transport passengers and cargo, moved 61.4 thousand tons, a drop of 11.2%.
