The period of friendlies during the World Cup break served for Corinthians to observe athletes who were in the final phase of their physical recovery. Among the highlights, defender Thaís Regina and midfielder Juliana Passari returned to action and took another step towards returning to official commitments for the team led by Emily Lima.

The two players participated in friendlies against the United States Under-23 National Team on June 5th and 9th. Despite the 2 x 0 and 1 x 0 defeats, respectively, the clashes were important for both teams to get back into the swing of things after long periods away from the field.

In the case of Thaís Regina, the return comes after a recovery that lasted more than six months. The defender suffered a fracture in the fibula of her left ankle during training at CT Dr. Joaquim Grava, in January this year, shortly before Corinthians' trip to the Champions Cup in England.

Since then, the athlete has undergone surgery, physiotherapy sessions and extensive physical recovery work until she was released to return to activities with the rest of the squad. At the end of May, she had already resumed field training, still with load control carried out by the medical department.

On social media, the player herself confirmed that she completed the physical transition phase and participated in the two friendlies against the North Americans.

Thaís Regina's last official match had taken place on December 7, 2025, in the final of the Campeonato Paulista Feminino against Palmeiras. In her first season for Corinthians, the defender played 30 games, starting most of them, in addition to contributing four goals and two assists in the Brasileirão and Libertadores title campaigns.

Juliana Passari also used friendlies to regain competitive rhythm. The midfielder suffered a muscle injury to her right thigh in April and, since then, has remained away from ball activities.

The athlete began the physical transition process at the end of May and gradually returned to training with the squad. Monitoring was carried out carefully by the medical department, mainly due to the player's history of injuries, who has already suffered ruptures of the anterior cruciate ligament in both knees throughout her career.

Participation in the friendlies marked Juliana's first minutes on the field this season. Until then, she had not yet officially debuted in 2026.

Signed by Corinthians at the beginning of 2025, after a spell at Palmeiras, the midfielder had few opportunities in her first season at the club. There were ten matches played, one goal scored and just over 300 minutes on the field with the black and white shirt.

Her last official performance took place in November last year, in the 3 x 0 victory over Realidade Jovem, in the Campeonato Paulista Feminino.

Now, after the end of the friendlies and the start of the squad's vacation period, the expectation is that the two athletes will be fully available to reinforce Corinthians as the season continues.

As Brabas will return to the pitch on July 17th, at 7pm, against Ferroviária, in Fazendinha, for the fourth round of the Campeonato Paulista Feminino. In addition to the State Championship, the club will also compete in the final stretch of the Brazilian Championship, the Copa do Brasil and the Libertadores in the second half of the year.
