After new route, airport in Serra de SC sees growth in passengers
After the start of a new route, Serra Catarinense Airport, as it is known, located in Correia Pinto, recorded a 29.4% growth in the number of passengers transported during the first half of the new operation.
The flight has three other frequencies and is operated by Gol, using a Boeing 737 Max.
Among the six months, April recorded the highest movement, with 2,465 passengers, between embarkations and disembarks, on a total of 13 flights.
According to data from the Airports management of the Secretariat of Ports, Airports and Railways (SPAF), with the new flight connecting Correia Pinto to Congonhas Airport, in the capital of São Paulo, which began in November last year, around 13.1 thousand passengers were handled.
For the Secretary of Ports, Airports and Railways (SPAF), Ivan Amaral, the numbers reflect that the flight has become attractive for users in the region, with regional demand being met "in a very significant way".
Before the route was operated by Gol, Azul operated in Correia Pinto.
After the end of the company's operations, the airport was closed for renovation work on the passenger terminal, aimed at modernizing the site's structure, in addition to improving operational safety.
The investment was R$3.3 million, of which R$3 million was allocated via parliamentary amendment.
