The senator and pre-candidate for the government of Ceará, Eduardo Girão (Novo), thanked this Thursday (25) the public support received from former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro amid the dispute within the Bolsonaro camp over the state succession.

In a statement, Girão stated that he was "very grateful for Michelle's support and trust" and also said he was grateful to "so many Brazilians who follow our work".

Without directly mentioning the PL (Liberal Party) or opponents, the senator took advantage of the demonstration to reinforce the speech that Ceará needs "a government that does not exchange principles for positions".

"I have faith that the people of Ceará deserve a government that does not exchange principles for positions, but that places truth and justice above all else", he wrote.

Girão also stated that he serves the state "with honesty, without negotiations" and said that those who are committed to "life, family, ethics and freedom" walk alongside him.

The demonstration takes place after Michelle Bolsonaro came out publicly in defense of Girão's candidacy for the Abolition Palace, in opposition to the PL's articulations in Ceará, which nods to Ciro Gomes (PSDB).

The episode deepened the differences between Michelle and senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL), who had been leading the party's political negotiations in the state alongside federal deputy André Fernandes (PL-CE) and defends a composition different from that desired by the former first lady.

Michelle also wants to nominate Priscila Costa (PL) for a seat in the Senate for the state, as opposed to Alcides Fernandes (PL), André's father.

In practice, Girão's note is a gesture of alignment with Michelle's position and a reinforcement of the speech adopted by the former first lady of rejection of political agreements that, in her assessment, would distort the project of Bolsonarism in Ceará.
