After elimination, Steve Clarke announces departure from command of the Scottish national team

After failing to qualify for the second phase of the World Cup, coach and former player Steve Clarke announced his departure from command of the Scotland national team this Saturday (27). He had been in charge of the national team since 2019.

In a statement released by the national team on social media, the team announced Clarke's departure by publishing an open letter written by the coach.

"The most emotional part of this farewell concerns my players; without them, we would not have any of the memories we have accumulated from 2019 so far. They deserve all the praise and admiration they receive, and it has been a true honor to be their coach," he wrote.

Also in the statement, Clarke thanked him for the opportunity to coach the team and wished his successor good luck.
