Understand the controversy
The controversy began after an episode of the podcast "Jararacas", presented by Rômulo Mendonça and Ricardo Bulgarelli. During the program, the two made a parody related to a video previously published by Alana, in which she recalled difficulties faced throughout her career in sports journalism.
The repercussion led Prime Video to temporarily remove the two professionals from broadcasting the NBA finals. In a statement, the platform informed that it does not tolerate comments considered inappropriate against members of its team and that it has opened an investigation into the case.
Rômulo Mendonça also spoke publicly. The narrator stated that the content was part of the humorous style adopted by the podcast and denied that the intention was related to machismo or envy. According to him, the company requested an apology after becoming aware of the situation.
While the investigation remains ongoing, Alana's demonstration marked her first public response to the episode that gained great repercussion among NBA fans and sports press professionals.
