Almost 60 advertising panels were removed from Cidade do Leste, in Paraguay, after the repercussion caused by the exhibition of a montage that showed former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) attacking the Paraguayan player Gustavo Gómez.

The montage appeared on May 30th on at least three screens installed in the Ponte da Amizade region. The companies responsible for the screens stated that the display of the images was the result of a hacker attack on the systems. The National Police of Paraguay is investigating the case.

After the episode, the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) announced the removal of advertising structures considered irregular installed in the right-of-way of the highways, an area that belongs to the State.
In a statement, the MOPC informed that it does not authorize the installation of posters and advertising panels in the right-of-way of the highways. highways. The agency cited Law No. 5,016/2014, which prohibits structures capable of compromising drivers' visibility or posing a risk to road safety.
According to the ministry, in addition to causing visual pollution, the panels can put traffic safety at risk. The ministry also reported that it maintains administrative processes and legal actions to remove structures installed in violation of the legislation, but that court decisions, in some cases, delay the execution of the measures.
G1 contacted the companies responsible for the screens to comment on the removal of the structures after the Paraguayan government's determination, but did not receive a response until the last update of this report.
All the removed material was sent to MOPC warehouses in Minga Guazú, where it will remain stored until an eventual formal request for return by the owners.

Companies speak out
It was identified that the screens belong to two companies: Fast Print and Publimix.
Fast Print and Publimix claim that the systems were the target of a hacker invasion and that the content was disseminated through "unauthorized manipulation" of the advertising screens. In a statement, they said that they are collaborating with the competent authorities and technical managers to clarify the facts, identify the authors and determine the corresponding responsibilities.
New Zone reported that it had no participation in the dissemination of the content and stated that it requested immediate clarifications from the company responsible for the advertisements, in addition to the removal of the images.
The companies stated that a criminal complaint was formalized with the Cybercrime Prosecutor's Office in Paraguay.

Cidade do Leste city hall stated that it opened an administrative investigation to investigate the case and identify those responsible for publishing the images.
