On Sunday afternoon (28), Corinthians visited Santos, at the Ulrico Mursa Stadium, Baixada Santista, in a duel valid for the third round of the classification phase of the 2026 Paulista Under-20 Championship, and drew goalless. The draw left Filhos do Terrão in fifth place in Group 1 with seven points - two wins and a draw - three goals scored and none conceded.

The result also extended Timãozinho's run without beating Santos in the category to six games. The Parque São Jorge club's last triumph against its rival took place on September 5, 2023, when, led by Danilo, they won by a score of 4 x 3, in a game for the round of 16 of the Copa do Brasil.

On this occasion, Filhos do Terrão were cast with: Kauê; Vitinho, João Pedro Tchoca, Renato and Vitor Meer; Luiz Gustavo Bahia, Ryan Gustavo and Pedrinho; Breno Bidon, Arthur Sousa and Kayke Ferrari. The reserve bench had the following options: Felipe Longo, Gabriel Caipira, Vinicius Cressi, Thomas Lisboa, Dimas, Higor Farias, Adryan Silva, Breno Zanetti, Matheus Henrique, Leo Agostinho, Thierry and Lucas Thierry.

Since then, there have been four draws and two defeats - seven goals scored and 12 conceded. The first setback happened in July 2024, when Alvinegro was defeated by their arch-rivals 5 x 2 - Campeonato Brasileiro. The second, in turn, came in September 2025. On that day, Timão was beaten 3 x 1, in the return duel of the round of 16 of the Campeonato Paulista, in Vila Belmiro.

Even in the face of the negative sequence against the Santos team, the team led by William Batista is enjoying a good moment this season, as it has accumulated five wins and three draws - 18 goals scored and nine conceded - in the last eight matches. Alvinegro has not lost in the category since May 19, when it was beaten by Palmeiras, 1 x 0, at Fazendinha, in the national competition.

Timãozinho will return to the pitch this Wednesday (1) at 3pm (Brasília time), to face Juventude, in the South region, in the 19th and penultimate round of the first phase of the Brazilian Under-20 Championship. A simple draw or a victory by any score qualifies Timão for the quarter-finals. A defeat, depending on a combination of results, could eliminate the team.

At the moment, Alvinegro occupies eighth place with 29 points - eight wins, five draws and five defeats - 31 goals scored and 24 conceded. The first team outside the G8 is Flamengo, which has 27 points.
