After 18 rounds, Corinthians records a negative offensive performance in the Brasileirão with straight points

On the afternoon of last Saturday (30), Corinthians went to Porto Alegre to face Grêmio, at Arena do Grêmio, in a match valid for the 18th round of the 2026 Brazilian Championship, and beat the team from Rio Grande do Sul by 3 x 1. Alvinegro's goals were scored by midfielder André Luiz (twice) and Kaio César. The triumph saw Timão jump to tenth place with 24 points - six wins, six draws and six defeats.
Despite the offensive improvement and the situation in the league table since the arrival of coach Fernando Diniz, at the beginning of April, Corinthians registered a negative mark in the era of running points - started in 2003, after 18 rounds in the national competition. Timão, in this section, has the fourth worst attack, having a better performance only than in 2024 (15 goals), 2004 (17 goals) and 2024 (17 goals). In the current edition, there are 18 balls in the nets, an average of one per round.

The survey was published on the Statistics Corinthianas page, on X, formerly Twitter. The Parque São Jorge club, however, recorded a G4 performance after the change in technical command. In total, there are four wins, one draw and two defeats, accumulating a performance of 58.3%, behind only Palmeiras (75.9%) and Flamengo (66.7%). In total, 10 goals were scored and eight conceded.
After this Saturday's clash in Rio Grande do Sul, against Grêmio, Corinthians will only return to the field after the World Cup, which will take place between June 11th and July 19th. Three days later, in the week of July 22nd, with no time yet defined, Timão will host Remo at the Neo Química Arena for the 19th round of the Brasileirão, at a time yet to be defined.
