Actor Hugh Laurie responds to criticism of "House": "It wasn't for you"

Actor Hugh Laurie, 66, responded to viewers' criticism of the script for the series "House". He played the eccentric doctor Gregory House, from 2004 to 2012, who tries to diagnose emblematic cases in the emergency room, with a certain irony and acid humor. However, Internet users who rewatched the production pointed out that the episodes are "repetitive" and that the diagnoses are never correct.

In the comments, the actor responded to the criticism: "Thanks for your review, Janet. We actually tried a few episodes where House (Hugh Laurie) gets it right the first time, but they were only 6 minutes long. NBC didn't like it. Then we tried a few where House never gets it right and the patient dies. The audience didn't like it."

The actor explained that the focus of the series was to present variations on a central theme, addressing hospital situations. "It wasn't for you", he adds, adding that, despite everything, he waits for the release of the writer's first novel.

The series was inspired by the New York Times Magazine's "Diagnosis" column, written by physician Lisa Sanders, in which she documents medical mysteries and their causes. Laurie's House, however, was not limited to diagnosing cases; An extremely cynical character, he dealt with his own addiction to painkillers and faced situations with an acidic sense of humor.

During its years on air, the series was acclaimed by critics and the public, earning Laurie two Golden Globes for her performance and six Emmy nominations. The series itself was nominated four times for best drama series.
