Abraccine updates list of the 100 best Brazilian films
The Brazilian Association of Film Critics (Abraccine) updated its list of the 100 most important national films of all time, published for the first time 10 years ago. In addition to including productions released between 2016 and 2026, such as "I'm Still Here" and "O Agente Secreto", the new selection brings more diversity.
"Society has changed, as has the profile of the association, which naturally grew and changed. This ends up being an important and necessary review of our cinema history", says Orlando Margarido, president of the entity that brings together more than 180 critics from all over the country and celebrates 15 years of existence.
The 100 most voted titles will be covered in critical texts in a book that will be published at the end of the year by Letramento.
The films were not ranked in order of quality, but in chronological order, from oldest to most recent.
