Abel Ferreira has his first victory against Flamengo in the Brasileirão
After Palmeiras' 3-0 victory against Flamengo at Maracanã, Portuguese coach Abel Ferreira beat the Rio team for the first time in the Brazilian Championship.
With goals from Flaco López, Allan and Paulinho, the team secured the three points after arriving under pressure for the game after the defeat to Cerro Porteño, at home, in the Libertadores and a sequence of three draws in the Brasileirão.
Now, there are 11 matches, one win, five draws and five defeats.

In other competitions, however, the record improves. Adding up games for the Libertadores, Copa do Brasil and Supercopa do Brasil, Palmeiras faced Flamengo six times and presented greater balance, with three wins, one draw and two defeats.
It is worth remembering that in two of these games, victory meant titles for Palmeiras: in the 2021 Libertadores final and the 2023 Super Cup.
In the round of 16 of the 2024 Copa do Brasil, each team won a knockout game, but Flamengo prevailed on aggregate, advancing to the next stage.
In the 2025 Libertadores final, Flamengo won and took the cup, while in the 2021 Super Cup final the teams drew, and Rio's Rubro-Negro won on penalties.
