4-year-old child dies after falling from hotel window in Blumenau (SC)
A 4-year-old child died after falling from the window of a hotel in the Vorstadt neighborhood in the city of Blumenau, in Santa Catarina, on Thursday afternoon (4). The Civil Police are investigating the case as manslaughter.
According to the mother's preliminary report to the police, she was alone with her son in the room, when she opened the window, at which point the boy approached to watch birds outside.
The child ended up leaning over and, although the mother tried to hold her by the legs when she realized the risk, it was not possible to avoid the fall, as reported by the Civil Police.
The boy fell in the lower area of the property, close to the garage. The mother immediately went downstairs with her son in her arms to ask for help and was helped by a guest, who transported him to the hospital.
The child's father, who is an assistant coach at Clube Atlético Metropolitano, had been working since the morning and arrived at the hospital as soon as he was informed about the incident. Despite the efforts of the medical team, the child did not survive and died.
In a statement, the Club mourned the death of the boy Arthur Colombo da Cruz. After the accident, the Military Police isolated the scene and called the Civil Police and the Scientific Police for expert and investigative procedures.
The child's parents were taken to the Civil Police Station to provide clarification.

Also according to the Civil Police, to date, preliminary surveys have not shown any signs of violence or evidence of malicious participation by third parties. For this reason, the initial line of investigation points to culpable homicide - when there is no intention to kill.
