33.5 million people traveled by plane in Brazil in the 1st quarter of 2026
More than 33.5 million people traveled by plane in the first quarter of 2026, a number 7.7% higher than that recorded in the same period last year. The data comes from a survey by the Ministry of Ports and Airports, based on the demand and supply report released this Friday (24) by Anac.
"We know that there is a cyclical and global crisis affecting the price of aviation kerosene (QAv) and this could impact the movement of air passengers throughout the year", considered minister Tomé Franca.
Passenger movement was even more significant on international flights, with growth of 13% in the quarter compared to the same period in 2025 (more than 8.3 million people). On domestic flights, the increase in the period was 6%, with more than 25.2 million passengers.
In March, 8 million domestic passengers and 2.6 million international passengers were transported, totaling 10.6 million, a record for the month. In the domestic segment, growth was 1.3% compared to March 2025, while the increase in the international segment was 8.9%. The total exceeds that observed in the same period last year by 3.1%.
