The 2026 World Cup will hold another opening ceremony this Friday (12), now in the United States, host of the tournament with Mexico and Canada.
The presentation of Anitta, Lisa and Rema excited Brazilian fans.
Earlier, at the opening ceremony in Canada, the internet joked with a problem with the giant bowl. The base of the prop was made from fabric that came loose in the middle of the performance.
Mexico was the first to hold the tournament's opening event, on Thursday (11). The internet reacted with memes about the singer Shakira, the Labubu dolls and Mexican references such as Chaves and RBD.
The first match, between Mexico and South Africa, also generated jokes due to the performance of referee Wilton Pereira Sampaio. The Brazilian sent off three players and, in one of them, had to announce his decision in English to everyone in the stadium.
