20 hits in 20 years: the story of 'Razões e Emoções', an emo anthem that 'pierced the bubble' in 2007
How 'Reasons and Emotions' became the emo anthem that 'pierced the bubble'
In the late 2000s, being emo was something dangerous. It took courage to put a wristband on your hand and a fringe on your head. Short for hardcore and emotional, "emo" was a strong buzzword. But it was still a bit niche.
Until a song came along about a guy who felt too much: "Razões e Emoções", by NX Zero. In it, Di Ferrero sang like this in the chorus:
"Between reasons and emotions, the way out
Is to make it worth it
If not now, later, it doesn't matter
For you I can wait"

NX Zero
Disclosure
"Razões e Emoções" was the track that placed rock for the last time in the Top 10 of the most listened to songs of the year. Never again has pop rock burst the bubble and boomed so much.
The lyrics could well be those of a country hit full of suffering, but they are emotional pop rock.
NX Zero sings 'Toxic' by Britney Spears
And her story is as follows:
Di Ferrero had a girlfriend when she was 19 years old. But they took some time and then she got pregnant. When he sings the part that says "I'm singing now for you to hear with someone else", the singer is talking about the girl listening to the father of her son.
Between the comings and goings of NX Zero, drummer Daniel Weksler was part of Pitty's band, with whom he had a daughter. And guitarist Gee Rocha became a highly sought-after rap producer.
After NX Zero ended in 2019. Vocalist Di Ferrero got it into his head that he wanted to be the Brazilian Justin Timberlake or Lulu Santos of the new generation. He hasn't managed it yet, but he keeps trying.
And we're rooting for him to do another "Razões e Emoções", which is a sticky, simple song without fear of being pop.
The group NXZero won the best song award in the popular vote
