1.3 magnitude earthquake is recorded in Minas Gerais

A magnitude 1.3 tremor was recorded in the city of Montes Carlos, in the interior of Minas Gerais. The information was confirmed by the Municipal Civil Defense on Wednesday (1st).

According to Professor Maycon Fredson, from the Seismology Center at the State University of Montes Claros, the earthquake is considered to be of low intensity.

The tremor was recorded at 3:06 pm and was noticed by some residents in the northwest region of the municipality.

"Neither the Civil Defense nor the Fire Department were called to respond to the aforementioned tremor, which, as mentioned, was of very low intensity", they informed in a note.
