President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Sunday (7) that Russia deliberately attacked a nuclear fuel storage facility near the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in Ukraine. He called the attack "extremely vile."


"Today, the Russians again attacked the special territory around the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. The attack hit one of the buildings of the Centralized Spent Fuel Storage Facility," he wrote on X, referring to an ordinary Russian attack drone.


"An extremely critical infrastructure installation - and an extremely vile Russian attack," he highlighted in the publication.

Kiev and the state atomic energy agency said radiation levels remained stable and there were no reports of injuries.
