The Corinthians Ethics Committee concluded the analysis of four complaints against the club's directors and advisors and, in its final opinions, recommended two warnings, the archiving of a case and the expulsion of Marcelo Mariano, former administrative director under Augusto Melo, between January 2024 and May 2025. Mariano was removed from office amid the scandal involving VaideBet, which culminated in the impeachment of the then president.

The opinion regarding Marcelo Mariano's case was initially released by journalist Pedro Ramiro, from Record, and confirmed by Central do Timão. The former director is a defendant in court for his participation in the VaideBet case, in which he is accused of ordering an employee from Corinthians' financial department to deposit R$1.4 million to the company Rede Social Media & Design, without the authorization of Rozallah Santoro, then the club's financial director. According to a police report, the company was used as an intermediary to divert resources from Corinthians to companies linked to organized crime.

It is worth remembering that, in May, Augusto Melo was removed from the Corinthians membership after having his expulsion recommended by the Ethics Committee and endorsed by the Deliberative Council, due to the same case involving former director Marcelo Mariano. Now, the opinion recommending Mariano's expulsion will be forwarded to the president of the Board Romeu Tuma Júnior, who must submit it for consideration by the advisors, responsible for deciding the future of the former administrative director at the club.

The other three cases

In addition to the opinion recommending the expulsion of Marcelo Mariano, the Ethics Committee concluded three other investigations. In the case of Yun Ki Lee, former legal director of the Augusto Melo administration in the first months of 2024, the body recommended the filing of the complaint. Lee was investigated by the Civil Police for alleged collusion in the VaideBet Case, but ended up acquitted.

In relation to life advisor Antônio Roque Citadini, the Ethics Commission recommended a warning after statements made in February 2026. At the time, Citadini stated that there was a supposed internal agreement to avoid the expulsion of former presidents Andrés Sanchez, Duílio Monteiro Alves and Augusto Melo from Corinthians membership, in exchange for the re-election of Osmar Stabile in the elections at the end of the year.

The licensed vice-president Armando Mendonça also received a warning recommendation. At the beginning of this year, after being questioned by a fan, the manager called him a "sucker", stated that he had helped remove a "president who stole" and declared that he "gave the 2025 Copa do Brasil title" to Corinthians. The director is still responsible internally for alleged misappropriation of the club's sporting equipment, however, the procedure is suspended by preliminary court decision.
