The Federal Police (PF) and the Brazilian Navy carried out, on Tuesday (7), a joint operation against international drug trafficking in international waters, off the coast of Suriname.
The action included the collaboration of agencies in the United States, through the sharing of intelligence information.
The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the American anti-drug agency, and the Joint Interagency Task Force South (JIATF-South), a task force linked to the Southern Command of the United States, participated in the cooperation. Belém (PA), boarded a fishing vessel. Narcotics were found at the scene.
The quantity seized will still be released after the completion of the procedures for checking and weighing the material.
The vessel and crew were sent to the procedures provided for in Brazilian legislation and international cooperation agreements. According to the PF, investigations continue to identify others involved and clarify the circumstances of the case.
