Upon arrival at the New York/New Jersey stadium, this Saturday (13), coach Carlo Ancelotti justified the surprises in the Brazilian team's lineup for the game against Morocco, which marks Brazil's debut in the World Cup.


Contrary to what was expected, Ibañez and Douglas Santos will start on the flanks, with Flamengo fans Danilo and Alex Sandro on the bench. Center forward Igor Thiago was chosen to lead the attacking trio, not Matheus Cunha.


"For this game, Igor has strength up front, he is aggressive, he can fight in the air. I believe Igor can do good for the team in this game", explained the 67-year-old coach, who will also make his debut as a coach in the World Cup, to CazéTV.

Igor Thiago, from Brentford, is the Brazilian with the most goals scored in a single Premier League season in history. For the Brazilian national team, he scored two goals, both from penalties, in friendlies.


Regarding the full-backs, Ancelotti was more measured in his explanation. "It's small details that determine whether to choose one player or another. After training, I thought Douglas Santos and Ibañez were good for this game," he said.


Brazil will debut against Morocco with Alisson; Ibañez, Marquinhos, Gabriel Magalhães and Douglas Santos; Casemiro, Bruno Guimarães and Lucas Paquetá; Raphinha, Vini Jr. and Igor Thiago.
