With 350 days to go, the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup, which will be held in Brazil, is on track to experience the peak of economic maturity and become the first edition in history to generate financial profit, regardless of contracts for the men's tournament.

The unprecedented projection by FIFA's head of football, Jill Ellis, reinforces the evolution of the sport and the enormous commercial potential that the country offers to the sports market.

The entity foresees a structural contribution of US$800 million to hold the event on Brazilian soil and guarantees that the total volume of fundraising will exceed this amount, generating revenues capable of fully covering the logistical and structural costs.

The expectation of profitability is linked to record public engagement, a robust media plan and strategic commercial partnerships. Among the global commercial highlights is the contract with the Netflix platform to sell the rights to show the championship to the United States market.

Another point is the adoption of an accessible ticket policy. The focus is on attracting audiences to stadiums to maintain a vibrant atmosphere and ensure inclusivity. The opening of ticket sales and the definition of prices will only take place after the end of the 2026 Men's World Cup.

Now, the next step will be to define the match schedule, positioning the Brazilian team and the traditional teams with the biggest fans in arenas with a large audience capacity.

The growth of fans in the stands was evident in the Brazilian Women's Team's friendlies against the United States held in June. The first game, held at the Neo Química Arena, in São Paulo, brought 31,336 fans to the stadium. Subsequently, the clash at Arena Castelão, in Fortaleza, made history by registering 55,744 spectators, the largest audience in history for a friendly game of the Brazilian Women's Team on national territory.

Fans' engagement with women's football is also reflected in the digital environment with a 350% increase in searches for the term "Women's World Cup 2027" on Google Trends in the last 30 days in Brazil.

Search had a "sudden increase" (technical classification given when the increase in searches is equal to or greater than 5,000%) on Sunday (5.Jul.2026), after the elimination of the Brazilian team by Norway in the round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup.

The volume of searches almost doubled, with an increase of 70%, compared to the previous day (4.Jul.2026), highlighting the expectation of the Brazilian public for the competition that will take place in less than a year.

"Hosting the 2027 World Cup represents an unprecedented opportunity to boost business, investment and exposure for women's football in Latin America.", says Ruskaya Zanini, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of FSports, the agency that holds the marketing rights for CBF women's football in the 2025-2029 cycle.

The company works directly to promote trade and strengthen competitions, aiming to promote a profitable business market.

The FIFA Women's World Cup will take place between June 24 and July 25, 2027. The matches will be distributed across different regions of Brazil, covering eight host cities, in modern arenas that were also used in the 2014 Men's World Cup.

"The Women's World Cup is an event with disruptive potential to definitively consolidate the sport on the national scene. The successive attendance records in recent friendlies are not just isolated numbers", comments Rene Salviano, specialist in sports marketing and CEO of Heatmap, an agency that works in partnership with FSports in the commercialization and management of CBF women's football sponsorship contracts.

Analysis: "Brazil had a mediocre campaign with poor repertoire"
