Find out the whereabouts of Bolsonaro's weapons mentioned in Moraes' decision

Former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) was the target of a search and seizure warrant this Wednesday morning (8). When determining the measure, Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the STF, pointed out "inconsistencies" in the information presented by the defense regarding the location of the weapons registered in the name of the former president.

Last Friday (3), when ordering the maintenance of Bolsonaro's house arrest, Moraes ordered that the entire arsenal linked to Bolsonaro be handed over to the Federal Police. In the decision, the minister considered that it was "incompatible" for someone serving a criminal sentence to maintain possession of firearms.

In total, the decision mentions ten weapons registered in Bolsonaro's name.

Still on Friday, the defense informed the STF that two Caracal brand weapons had already been delivered to the Federal Police in 2023, in compliance with a decision by the TCU (Federal Audit Court). This Wednesday, the PF itself confirmed that these weapons were in fact already in its custody.

In relation to the other eight weapons, the lawyers stated that they were protected at the Army Police Battalion, in Brasília. However, the Army reported that only six of them were in the battalion and would be sent to the Federal Police Superintendence in the Federal District.

It was from this divergence that the inconsistencies highlighted by Moraes emerged.

After the Army's demonstration, the defense reported that a rifle remains, since acquisition, in a company that imports war items in Caxias do Sul (RS). According to lawyers, the weapon was received by Bolsonaro as a gift and was never removed from the store.

The other weapon, a Glock pistol, would be in the custody of the Civil Police of the Federal District. According to the defense, it was seized in June in the investigation that investigated the irregular use of the weapon by a member of the former president's security team.

In the decision that authorized the search and seizure, Moraes does not mention the Glock. The minister states, however, that the version presented about the shotgun differs from the information contained in official records and was not accompanied by sufficient documentation to prove its location. Given the inconsistencies, the search was carried out.

The operation, carried out this morning, lasted around an hour and a half. Nothing was found or seized.
