No Tears For Tessio.
Towards the end of the movie, Tessio's plan to lead Michael to his assassination is halted. He asks Tom if he
can get him off the hook... For old times' sake. Tom denies him and walks away. As Tessio is left to stand
there and realize his fate for a moment before being escorted, this cue starts playing.
In the movie, we only hear the second part of the track. The cornet intro playing the melody to the Godfather
Waltz is just included on the OST re-release, bringing this cue up to 55 seconds. Said second part is the
melody to The New Godfather (or Michael's Theme). That is played by a cello, clarinet and bassoon. Composed
by Nino Rota and conducted by Carlo Savina. Transposal to the mandolin in standard tuning, GDae.
